Description
A lovely antique music cabinet. We date this cabinet to the late 19th century.The cabinet sits on four decorative turned legs with ceramic castors and is inlaid throughout.
The cabinet consists of a lower display music case with a glazed door. The interior is fitted with three shelves marked for ‘Sacred’, Songs’ and ‘General’. Above are two shelved areas and is mounted with an attractive carved gallery. The gallery has a mirror back and lovely pierced fretwork mouldings.
The door is fitted with a lock (key supplied).
The cabinet has an overall height of 57" (155cm) including gallery, a top surface height of 41.5” (106cm), a width of 30" (76cm) and a depth of 16" (41cm).
This lovely Victorian cabinet remains in good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some minor marks to the finish on the top surface.
This remains a stylish and elegant cabinet that would function well as a great little display cabinet / whatnot. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
